Is it enough to have an open-source OS ecosystem but everything else ... not so open ?

Is Apple losing its mojo ? The iPad mini is clearly a reaction to already attacked market segment (ASUS/Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle). What does it mean for Apple customers ? Shareholders ?

Is this a clear sign that open ecosystems (Android/Linux) increase the innovation of any technology and, as a consequence, will dominate the market ?

Windows keyblet : no disruptive innovation, still not open source...

The hype is all about cloud and the end of the desktop as we know it. The recent move from a "pure" gnome desktop to Unity by Ubuntu/Canonical is clearly a sign that of a fast-track type of (r)evolution. Why is it good for the key-players (Ubuntu/Debian, Canonical, Gnome and ... the User), what are the risk associated with this somehow bold move ?

Lots of young companies / start-ups are only interested by open source as long as it helps them to create value and be bought by a larger and often closed source proprietary company. They only focus on the economical and legal aspect of open source and somehow disregard other key aspects of open source like : social/community, ethics, political/governance, etc. Lots of recent example (OpenOffice/Oracle, Java/Oracle, MySQL/Oracle, Zimbra/VMWare, ...) can be studied. Most of those open source projects are flaky at best and have to design an emergency plan (think disaster recovery here) in order to ... survive. The long term effects are linked to the brand damage those case produce on the Open Source brand...

What if the Linux desktop as we know it was a thing from the past ? Major players like Asus, Google, Canonical decided to create their own desktop in order to provide a Zen, very fast environment for millions of users. What are the consequences for the "legacy" windows managers (Gnome, KDE, etc.) ?

Large organization don't contribute that much to the open source projects they use. Why and how can we help create a positive environment inside large organizations that will help them contribute to Open Source projects : bug, patches, translation, documentation for existing project. Is it a dream to have large organizations create and open-source some of the technology they develop internally ?
