As you may remember from our first piece from Linuxfest Northwest , the presenters are not just talking heads that are paid to come and speak. These are individuals that truly believe in what they are sharing with the attendees, and more often than not, visitors to the convention will come away smarter from the experience.

I believe wholeheartedly that the dream of most open source developers is to be able to find a way to fund their efforts to create or merely improve upon the open source projects out there. And one of the cornerstones that David Mandel expresses during his talk is that there is a whole lot more to making a success out of an open source project than just creating a version of it and seeking funding.
