LXer Announcement 07-Oct-2006

LXer's newswire has an icon that appears next to news stories when readers refresh the page. The current icon is a red circle with an exclamation point. Although we have one or two possible replacements, we invite our readers to submit their own entries for a vote.

When you refresh the front page, a little exclamation point in a red circle appears next to any stories that have hit the front page since your last refresh. Some readers would appreciate a nicer icon, and we agree with them. We have a really good replacement in mind, but would like to encourage everyone in the community to submit your own idea.

All submissions must be 20x20 pixels. PNG format would be ideal, since it is a libre format. Ideally, you can get your submission by Friday the 13th. Boy, that sounds ominous, doesn't it? At any rate, we'll put any submissions up for the LXer community to vote on. Attach the image(s) in an e-mail to the editors _at_ lxer _dot_ com. As always, let's have fun with this!
