Leading technology vendors extend collaboration on Service-Oriented
Architectures technologies.
Signifying the growing interest in and adoption of SOAs, several leading
technology vendors, who have been working together to create Service
Component Architecture (SCA) and Service Data Objects (SDO)
specifications announced key achievements, including a significant
increase in industry involvement and advancements in the development of
SOA-related specifications and technologies. The group also launched a
vendor-neutral web site (www.OSOA.org) to serve as an information
resource for access to draft specifications, white papers, and for
providing a forum for industry input and feedback.

Red Hat Expands Telecommunications Solutions
Red Hat announced the newly created Telecommunications Partner
Programme. The goal, to drive awareness and adoption of carrier-grade
server platforms and solutions based on industry-standard hardware and
Red Hat software. The Telecommunications Partner Programme will deepen
Red Hat's relationships with leading Network Equipment Providers (NEPs),
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), telecommunications Independent
Software Vendors (ISVs), and operators. It will package new and existing
Red Hat capabilities into an integrated platform that can be easily
leveraged across the telecommunications ecosystem.

RHCE Day Singapore and RHCA/JBoss Launch
RHCE Day Singapore is a special day dedicated to all Red Hat Certified
Engineers (RHCEs) in Singapore. Red Hat invites you to join us on 31

Open Source Symposium 2006
Red Hat, together with AMD and IDC, launched the Open Source Symposium
on 17 August in Singapore with resounding success. The symposium played
to a full house of more than 220 business executives, IT administrators
and developers. Open Source Symposium is a 14-city roadshow designed to
address hot topics such as open source technologies and methodologies,
open standards, freedom of choice, and industry trends. This year's
topics include virtualisation, security management, service-oriented
architecture and open source architecture.

Red Hat Developer Day
True to Linux developer roots, Red Hat will hold the Red Hat Developer
Day in five Asia Pacific cities in conjunction with the Open Source
Symposium. The seminar, held on the following day of Open Source
Symposium, will set the benchmark on open source development,
techniques, tools and standards. It will bring Linux developers and
users together to share and grow the use of open source technologies.
