6th-April-2006: Daffodil Software, a Java database and replication technology company, today announced the beta release of Daffodil Replicator v2.1 with support for MySQL database replication as its major feature.

Daffodil Replicator is Open Source
data synchronization software that ensures high availability of data in environments that make use of heterogeneous databases. Replicator can either capture a data-source snapshot OR synchronize change to maintain a local database at remote client locations. It can also be used for sharing workload across enterprise database severs, by mirroring vital data on identical databases.

Few new features included in Daffodil Replicator v2.1 are:

MySQL Database Replication Support: Heterogeneous Data Synchronization between MySQL and other databases has been introduced.

Support for Heterogeneous Data Replication with Firebird: Daffodil Replicator v2.1 provides the flexibility of data replication between Firebird and any other database supported by Daffodil Replicator.

Performance Enhancements: XML file creation process has been optimized. The new process drastically reduces the time taken in capturing the insertion, deletion and updation of records from Replicator shadow tables and transmitting it to target database server. Due to this all the replication operations could be performed in much lower time as compared to earlier Replicator versions.
