Nokia to promote Open Source more intensely
"Open-source initiatives are the most important components of Nokia's offers for the mobile solutions market," Nokia declared at the Mobility Conference 2005 in Barcelona, while at the same time with its own open-source website launching a portal aimed at promoting open-source projects and embracing open-source developers to a greater degree. Besides the Web browser for Series 60 mobile phones, presented a short time ago, projects such as Python for Series 60, maemo, an open development environment for creating applications for handhelds, and Wilbur, a Semantic Web toolkit written in Common Lisp, can be found at opensource.nokia.com.
