Top Story
----------------------------------------
Mandriva Linux Limited Edition 2005 available to all!
Our top story this week is the public release of Mandriva Linux
Limited Edition 2005! Of course, network installation has been
possible since last month, but now anyone who wants to try out the
new release - with its updated applications, improved hardware
support and refined configuration tools - simply by downloading CD or
DVD images now can! Of course, Club members and buyers of the boxed
set still get access to extra applications and popular commercial
applications and drivers. You can access the free download version by
following this link.

Mandriva Releases
----------------------------------------
Limited Edition 2005 for PowerPC released!
Rounding out the set of popular processors, the unofficial
community-developed PowerPC release of Mandriva Linux Limited Edition
2005 is now available for all. This version has been developed with a
special emphasis on supporting popular PowerPC hardware, including
the new Mac Mini, which is almost perfectly supported by this
release. PowerPC users can find out how to download Limited Edition
2005 on our download page.

Updated XBox installation discs available
Unfortunately, there were some problems with installation of Limited
Edition 2005 onto the XBox. Luckily, our XBox expert, Stew Benedict,
has come to the rescue with updated XBox installation images! On our
download sites, you will find two updated installation discs for XBox
users. You can download the smallest one, burn it to a CD, and then
use it to start an installation from the original Limited Edition
2005 CDs or DVD, or you can do a minimal installation from the
updated mini CD release and then install additional applications with
our packaging tools. Either way, these images will fix the problems
with XBox support during installation. There's more information and
advice on running Mandriva on XBox on this page from the Mandriva
development wiki.

Limited Edition 2005 Review on LWN
LWN.net has published its review of Limited Edition 2005 here. In
testament to the smooth, trouble-free nature of Limited Edition 2005,
they mention that they "used the i586 edition extensively for about a
week and we have yet to find any problem with the distribution."
Chalk up another happy user of LE 2005!

Mandriva Updates
----------------------------------------
Update your Mandriva - more secure, more functional
What should you do every day? Well, wake up on time, take a shower,
feed the cat and, of course, update your Mandriva Linux. Updates
released since the last issue include important security fixes for
X.org, OpenOffice.org and others, and bug fixes for KDE and the
Mandriva tools, so remember to update regularly to keep your system
secure and up to date! Of course, you have an alarm clock to help you
wake up on time, so why not get Mandriva Online to help you remember
to update on time? It'll even help you do the updates, and notify you
when they're available. That's better than an alarm clock any day of
the week...
