TimeSys Delivers 2.6-based Linux Development Kits for Curtiss-Wright Controls SVME/DMV-182 and CHAMP-AV III Boards

Pairs TimeSys 2.6 Linux, True Real-Time Performance and Powerful Development Tools with Advanced Boards for Mission-Critical Aerospace and Defense System Applications

Pittsburgh, PA -- November 30, 2004 -- TimeSys® Corporation, a leader in embedded Linux® technologies and development tools, today announced the availability of TimeStorm® Linux Development Kits (LDKs) for Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing's (CWCEC) SVME/DMV-182 Single Board Computer (SBC) and CHAMP-AV III Quad PowerPC Digital Signal Processor (DSP) Board.

TimeStorm LDKs come complete with a ready-to-run, hardware-optimized 2.6-based Linux distribution and advanced real-time capabilities, including schedulable hard and soft interrupt handlers, priority inheritance mutexes and a fully preemptible kernel. Full-featured LDKs for Curtiss-Wright boards also include the Eclipse 3.0-based TimeStorm® Linux Development Suite (LDS), which speeds time to market by enabling developers to quickly define, install, bring up, develop and port Linux to their target platform.

"TimeStorm LDKs bring all of the software and utilities that programmers need for Linux deployment and application development on the SVME/DMV-182 and CHAMP-AV III," said Tom Quinly, President of Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing. "TimeStorm LDKs also deliver the integrated real-time functionality required by mission-critical, harsh-environment applications in defense and aerospace systems, including tactical aircraft and armored vehicles that employ radar, sonar and signal intelligence."

TimeStorm SVME/DMV-182 and CHAMP-AV III LDKs Include:

2.6 Linux distributions optimized for the SVME/DMV-182 and CHAMP-AV III

Integrated real-time capabilities such as schedulable hard and soft interrupt handlers, priority inheritance mutexes and a fully preemptible kernel

Support for all external buses and interfaces, including kernel drivers for all on-board devices

Royalty-free, high-power runtime for commercial deployment

GNU toolchains to facilitate development and debugging of custom applications
