The Wine development team has released the ninth milestone towards the Wine 2.0 open-source implementation of Windows on Unix, Wine 1.9.9, bringing various fixes and improvements to more Windows apps and games.

The Windows apps that received fixes in Wine 1.9.9 are Windows Movie Maker 2.x, TeX2Word, 3DMark Vantage Benchmark, QuarkXPress 9.5, BOTTLENECK, Process Hacker 2.x, Skype 7.4.85.102, HiSuite Huawei Android Smart Device Manager v2.3.55.x, Microsoft Office 2007, TeamViewer 11, PDF Eraser, as well as Midnight Commander.
The Windows games that received improvements in Wine 1.9.9 are Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Mystic Diary - Haunted Island, 3D Custom Shoujo, Metal Gear Solid, Chessmaster 10, Gothic 2 English Demo, Eden Eternal, King Arthur II Demo, Just Cause 2, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Carbon, Prison Tycoon 4, Guild Wars, and Star Craft 2.
