Ubuntu Touch Received Sync, Messaging, Telephony, and Browser Improvements

Canonical's Bill Filler informed both Ubuntu app developers and Ubuntu Phone users about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch team for the operating system's core apps.

Among the new features implemented in the Ubuntu Touch web browser, we can mention support for downloading files within the app, Google Chrome-like tab opening functionality, search support in history view, permanent storage of thumbnails, and the addition of thumbnails to the Top Sites view and Bookmarks to the top level menu.

On the other hand, the Messaging app of Ubuntu Touch received the anticipated converged layout, better scrolling performance in the Messages view, the ability to match contact names when the app starts, a facelift to the new send button, faster thread loading, as well as many other fixes to the Message indicator.
