How to Install Linux Kernel 4.2 on Ubuntu, Debian, and Linux Mint

Arne Exton, an independent distribution developer, has informed us earlier today, September 2, that he managed to compile new kernel packages for Ubuntu/Debian-based distributions.

Arne Exton's kernel is based on the upstream Linux kernel 4.2 and has been engineered to work on 64-bit versions of any supported Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Debian distribution. According to Mr. Exton, kernel 4.2.0-7-exton works even on the latest Debian GNU/Linux 8.1 (Jessie) operating system.

However, we've tested Mr. Exton's new kernel on an Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) installation and everything when smooth. Please keep in mind that the default kernel of your operating system will be replaced by this one based on the recently released Linux 4.2 kernel.
