The GStreamer developers gathered together at an event called GStreamer Summer Hackfest 2015, which took place for three days in Montpellier, France, Europe. There's they managed to implement a great number of new features that will be part of the forthcoming 1.6 release of GStreamer, as well as to release the first Beta build (technical version number is 1.5.90), which has been seeded to testers worldwide.
