Optimization techniques for library functions using IBM PowerPC processors
This article explains the various optimization techniques in power assembly so as
to make applications run faster. Applying certain techniques in IBM® PowerPC®
processor-specific applications improves the performance of the program. Some of the
following techniques are now applied on Linux glibc string and memory functions and
there is a significant amount of performance improvement. This article is intended for
IBM AIX and Linux programmers who write assembly code for performance improvement in
IBM Power Architecture.
