The Elive development team announced the immediate availability for download and testing of version 2.6.6 Beta of the Debian-based Elive Linux distribution built around the Enlightenment desktop environment.

Elive 2.6.6 Beta is here to bring numerous under-the-hood improvements for several components, as well as some new features, such as initial support for USB 3, bugfixes and improvements to the hibernation function, as well as several enhancements to the Clock, which can now correctly detect your timezone and the time changing between Linux and Windows.

Additionally, the built-in installer received several fixes and improvements, such as support for LUKS and LVM2 setups in the automated partitioning, a function similar to the one from Debian GNU/Linux, as well as the ability to re-use existing LUKS + LVM2 partitions to install the Elive distribution on them.
