Alexander Tratsevskiy had the pleasure of announcing a few minutes ago, July 2, that Calculate Linux, a Russian distribution of Linux based on the Gentoo operating system, reached version 13.19 with tons of new features, updated applications, and general system improvements.

Calculate Linux 13.19 appears to be the last maintenance release for the 13.x branch of the distribution and comes with Linux kernel 3.14.9, KDE Plasma 4.13.2 for the main Desktop edition, as well as LibreOffice 4.2.5 office suite and Chromium 35 web browser for both Desktop flavors.

Among other improvements, we can mention that a Shorewall configuration tool has been added, as well as support for the exFAT filesystem. In addition, native PulseAudio support has been introduced, along with the powerful GStreamer framework for an out-of-the-box multimedia experience.

The Audacious audio player has been replaced with the Clementine music player in the Xfce edition of Calculate Linux Desktop, while the Blueman utility returns for handling Bluetooth configuration. Moreover, the UEFI installation has been repaired, as well as the screen locking issue.
