Skype 4.2.0.13 for Linux Fixes Ubuntu and Debian 64-bit Crashes

Microsoft has announced recently that an updated version of the stable Skype 4.2 free Internet telephony application is now available for download, fixing various issues and crashes found in the previous version (4.2.0.11).

After approximately 8 months, Microsoft finally decided to update its Skype application for the Linux platform, bringing a highly anticipated workaround for the audio noise issues in the 3.x and 4.x branches of the PulseAudio sound server.
In addition, Skype 4.2.0.13 is here to fix a crash that occurred on 64-bit versions of the Ubuntu and Debian Linux operating systems due to missing libasound2-plugins:i386 dependency, fix a rare crash that appeared when a chat was opened and a certain emoticon didn't exist, as well as a fix for various numbers of the dialpad, which did not work properly.
