Paolo Bacchilega had the pleasure to announce that gThumb 3.3.1 is available for download, a release which brings several new features, as well as user visible changes. gThumb is an open source, easy-to-use and intuitive image viewer and browser utility that is mostly used under the powerful GNOME desktop environment.

gThumb 3.3.1 is the first maintenance release of the development 3.x series, and it now uses the dark theme, a GtkHeaderBar is now used instead of a toolbar and a menu, adds better support for RAW images, a frame is now displayed around an image in the image viewer, and zoomed images are presented in a better quality.

Users will now be able to use an overview window if they want to scroll an image, instead of using the scrollbars, big image files will load a lot faster, the mediabar is automatically hidden after a timeout in the media player, selections can now be viewed via buttons on the Filterbar, and only the basic properties are now displayed in the file properties dialog.
