Alex Preston’s Kickstarter for Hyper Light Drifter has been a runaway success. Having asked for only $27,000, he has –at the time of this writing– matriculated past the $500k mark. He is now working towards closing $600k to secure a well-earned masters degree in Kickstarter. Having backed 7 other Kickstarters himself, he is no stranger to the indie scene.

If there has been any indie titles in the past year or so that deserve compare to A Link To The Past, it’s Anodyne. But that doesn’t mean Hyper Light Drifter can’t cash in on it’s top-down similarities. From a style standpoint, Hyper Light Drifter manages to delight the senses by maximizing a minimal palette. Along with these carefully crafted swatches of color come animations that are equally pleasant. Full Story |
