New Kernel Vulnerabilities Affect Ubuntu 12.10
Canonical announced a few days ago that a kernel update is available for its Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) Linux operating system, fixing eight vulnerabilities found in the Linux kernel packages.

The following eight Linux kernel vulnerabilities affect Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal): CVE-2012-5374, CVE-2012-5375, CVE-2013-1060, CVE-2013-2140, CVE-2013-2232, CVE-2013-2234, CVE-2013-4162, and CVE-2013-4163.

The security flaws can be fixed if you upgrade your system(s) to the linux-image-3.5.0-40 (3.5.0-40.62) package(s). For detailed instructions on how to upgrade your system, see the following link: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Security/Upgrades.
