Canonical announced a few minutes ago, February 12, in a security notice, that a new kernel upgrade for its Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) operating system is available, fixing four vulnerabilities found by various developers in the Linux 3.0 kernel packages.

These are the four vulnerabilities found in the Linux kernel packages by various developers: CVE-2012-2669, CVE-2012-4508, CVE-2012-5532 and CVE-2013-0190.

You can click on each one to see how it affects your system, or go here for in-depth descriptions, as it affects other Linux operating systems as well.

The security flaws can be fixed if you upgrade your system(s) to the linux-image-3.0.0-31 (3.0.0-31.48) package(s). To apply the update, run the Update Manager application or follow these instructions: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Security/Upgrades.
