KDE 4.9.2 Released: Brings October’s Bugfixes And Features

For some, the 1st of the month is something to rejoice about, but unlike checks from the Department of Welfare, KDE brings nothing but good tidings and cheer with this latest series of updates, one day later.

Significant improvements are always welcome, especially for something that is billed as a minor point release. At the same time, it is exciting to be only months away from KDE 4.10, which will bring a sorts of niceties like updated notifications. At this point, each release is just one release closer to KDE 5.0 which has a lot of people on the edge of their seats! It has been discussed many times that KDE 5.0 is not going to be a major departure from 4.x as 4.x was to the 3.x series. Rather, they’ve decided to make sure everything is working as users would expect them to in Qt5.
