Patrick Verner proudly announced last night, May 14th, that his Parted Magic 2012_05_14 Linux distribution is available for download.

Parted Magic 2012_05_14 is now powered by Linux kernel 3.3.6 and Xorg Sever 1.12.1, and includes the following updated packages: OpenSSL 0.9.8v, mount-gtk 1.2.0, MesaLib 8.0.2, fontconfig 2.8.0, freeglut 2.8.0, glew 1.5.7, libdrm 2.4.33, mtdev 1.1.2, lxpanel 0.5.9, glibc 2.15, and probably all x86-video packages.

The following packages were added in Parted Magic 2012_05_14, like Iptables 1.4.10, ConsoleKit 0.4.3, polkit 0.101, polkit-gnome 0.101, spacefm 0.7.6, sudo 1.7.4p6, and udisks 1.0.4.

pcmanfm-mod and pmount packages were removed from Parted Magic 2012_05_14, and all incoming traffic for wired devices can now be blocked with Iptables if you hit TAB and add "firewall" at the first boot screen.
