Red Hat announced yesterday, April 24th, that the Beta release of the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 operating system is ready for download and testing.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 Beta comes packed with brand-new features and enhancements in many areas, including scalability, virtualization, filesystems, security, storage, hardware enablement, and identity management.

The third point release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 will bring features such as the Virt-P2V tool, which will easily convert physical Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows systems into virtual images, increased maximum number of virtual CPUs from 64 to 160, GFS2 enhancements, support for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) target, support for services map and netgroups in System Security Services Daemon (SSSD), two-factor authentication mechanism, improved support for USB 3.0, and OpenJDK 7.
