Xubuntu 12.04 LTS Alpha 2 is powered by Linux kernel 3.2.2 and is built on top of the Xfce 4.8 desktop environment. It features a new greeter and desktop theme, as well as minor changes to various packages and default settings (including the size of the Terminal font).

The distro also has an updated xfdesktop4 package that allows users to single click on items to open them, and provides thumbnail support for the desktop. xfce4-settings was also updated to include a new touchpad/mouche dialog.
The second Alpha of Xubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) is distributed as Live CD (Desktop and Alternate editions) ISO images for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Full Story |
