It's not official! Firefox 8.0 and Thunderbird 8.0 were made available for download a few minutes ago, for all supported platforms.

Linux users can download the new releases of Firefox and Thunderbird for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, supporting most of the existing distributions.

The new Firefox 8.0 web browser brings built-in Twitter search, an one-time add-on selection dialog and HTML5 context menus support.
