CODEWEAVERS MARKS 15TH BIRTHDAY BY REVEALING BIRTHER VIDEO

CodeWeavers, Inc., which provides the celebrated CrossOver software enabling Mac and Linux users to run Windows software on their computers without the need of a Microsoft license, this week marks its 15th birthday by releasing its birther video and offering its new CrossOver Bundle product at a price that corresponds with the day of the month.

As the birther video reveals, CodeWeavers was founded by CEO Jeremy White after witnessing the inception of a fiery romance between a Mac user and a PC devotee who met on a random Tuesday afternoon at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. With that passion—and seed capital White earned in a lawsuit he settled out of court after being rear-ended on I-35W by an over-caffeinated campaign volunteer for H. Ross Perot’s ill-fated ‘96 presidential campaign—the product known as CrossOver came to be.

“I’m incredibly proud of CrossOver, which has grown into a bright-eyed teenager,” said White as he sat at his desk attempting to dry his tears off the birthday card he was signing for his software. “Sure, he’s had his meltdowns and occasionally he’s done things I had no idea he could do. But, through it all he’s been a trusty alternative for individuals who want to run Windows applications on their computer without the drudgery and expense of buying a Microsoft license.
