Marist College joins Linux consortium

Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has joined the Open Source Development Labs, becoming the first member of an affiliate program that lets colleges and universities join the multicompany consortium, OSDL said Tuesday. The consortium, which employs Linux founder Linus Torvalds, is attempting to become the "center of gravity," a focal point for development of the open-source operating system.
