Before we begin, let's be clear on one point. This is not another "how to build a cluster recipe" or article. It is what to know and what you should think about before you build your cluster. Perhaps you are familiar with Linux and X86 hardware, but without a good cluster background many of the ideas or methods may seem mysterious.
