Moving Linux into the home
Hundreds of fans of the Linux computer operating system converged in Del Mar on Thursday to hear how their software is moving from a cult of computer geeks and big businesses to homes, schools and government agencies. The message from speakers and exhibitors at the Desktop Linux Summit: Linux is technically ready to compete with Microsoft Windows, but the word needs to get out more to software developers and computer sellers before it's adopted in numbers approaching that of Windows.
