Two views on VIA's open source release
It appeared the open source community had a bone thrown to it by VIA, which announced open driver source codes earlier this month. They add that while their pure open source project is successfully bridging the gap, VIA would have been better off participating in the community effort rather than forking code for the sake of its press releases.

The Cook's Collection (Cooking with Linux)
Robby Stephenson's Tellico is billed as a collection manager though I like to think of it as a very versatile personal library system. It's a great tool for keeping track of your many cookbooks as well as Linux books, science fiction books, mysteries, and so on. That in itself would make it an extremely useful tool for keeping track of what books various friends and family have.
