"Turbolinux Appliance Server 2.0 is an extremely user-friendly Internet server configuration application suitable for IT system directors, web designers, and end users who require uncomplicated server configuration and website management," said Koichi Yano, president and COO of Turbolinux, Inc. By simply installing the software on a standard IA Server with the intuitive Web Management tool "TLAS Server Desktop," multiple server operations can be uniformly managed. Additionally, a secure e-mail environment and/or e-mail transferring of mail server management can be easily configured using the web browser. And, TurboPlus, an enhanced package management tool with an automatic update feature is included in the product package. Moreover, another special feature - "Active Monitor" - provides remote access capability to monitor server status and to locate potential abnormalities in the server. Turbolinux 10 Server (10S) serves as the base OS for TLAS2.0 with corresponding support for various IA servers, anti-virus, groupware, and backup software, among other applications. Due to the discontinuance of Sun Microsystem's server appliance "Sun Cobalt," TLAS2.0 will succeed the Turbolinux Appliance Server 1.0 series (TLAS1.0), which has performed exceptionally well as an OEM offering since its release in February 2004. TLAS2.0 will be offered as both customized OEM product sales and separate boxed package sales. In fact, Turbolinux has invited the existing OEM sales partners of TLAS1.0, as well as system integrators with configuration and management expertise, to become "TLAS Premier Partners" to support sales activity and service support. The objective of these key alliances is to help facilitate the deployment of TLAS2.0 by enterprise firms, educational institutions, local governments, and Internet service providers.
