Oracle and Dell Extend Strategic Partnership; Dell to Distribute Oracle(R) Technology and Oracle Applications Software
ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Building on the three-year success of their strategic alliance, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) and Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) today announced that the companies will extend their global distribution agreement for two additional years, and now enable Dell to resell Oracle(R) applications. This expanded partnership provides customers worldwide with easy, one-stop access to comprehensive, cost-effective technology solutions from Oracle and Dell. Additionally, Dell will now resell the Oracle E-Business Suite and JD Edwards applications, which enable information-driven business processes that help customers to connect and automate their organizations. At the time of license purchase, multi-year support packages for up to three years at a time are also now available from Dell. Both companies will invest additional, dedicated staff and will increase their participation in a joint marketing development fund to help ensure a successful partnership. The Dell | Oracle configurations will consist of Dell PowerEdge(TM) Servers and Dell/EMC storage for Oracle Applications along with Dell|Oracle validated RAC solutions. This will include expanded licensing agreement options that allow customers to enter into a contract to license Oracle technology and applications as "Easy as Dell." This agreement highlights the continuous commitment of both companies to make it simpler and faster for customers in any region to procure, install and benefit from technology solutions.
