SAN DIEGO, June 14 -- BakBone Software(TM) (TSX: BKB, OTC Bulletin Board: BKBOF), a global provider of data protection software, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Titan Corporation to provide software and support under Titan's server integration contract with the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AOUSC). The AOUSC offers services to the federal courts in administrative support, program management and policy development. The U.S. Courts are currently migrating a number of applications to the Linux operating system using industry-standard HP ProLiant servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server and HP StorageWorks MSL tape libraries. BakBone software offers core capabilities on Linux -- ease of use, reliability and rapid implementation -- while adding the ability to provide centralized database application support and high performance backups for business continuance strategies.

"BakBone's support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments, with its guaranteed data protection across a broad array of applications, provides an additional level of confidence to customers deploying Linux in the data center," said Deb Woods, vice president product management, Red Hat. "We are pleased to see the results of our support of BakBone's Linux Advantage initiative extend to joint customer deployments such as the U.S. Courts."

"Titan's use of BakBone for their contract with the U.S. Courts is an excellent example of the customer adoption BakBone continues to see of its NetVault software for enterprise Linux environments," said Scott Petersen, BakBone's vice president of North American sales. "BakBone combines broad Linux support, as evidenced through the Linux Advantage initiative, with strategic relationships with leading database, application software, and systems companies. Enabling users to confidently deploy Linux in mission-critical environments, BakBone increases customer ROI by reducing complex configuration and operational requirements, decreasing costs and increasing the reliability of their IT infrastructures."

"HP is the leading platform provider in the Linux market(1) and we are committed to meeting the needs of our customers by providing the most comprehensive portfolio of Linux solutions based on industry-standard platforms," said Martin Fink, vice president of Linux, HP. "The U.S. Courts' deployment of HP ProLiant servers and HP StorageWorks tape libraries with BakBone's data protection software to protect multiple petabytes of information is testament to the pervasiveness of Linux in the enterprise and customers' confidence in deploying Linux to support mission-critical environments."
