SCALE fills all main speaker tracks; space still open in specialty conference tracks. The 7th Annual So Cal Linux Expo is shaping up nicely. In spite of adding an additional track to the weekend conference, all four tracks have been filled. The Expo received 148 submittals , all of which were excellent, for 45 speaker slots. The speaker selections have been completed and the speakers are being notified. Keynote speaker selection is in progress.

[Yours truly will be there for the third year in a row, I can't wait! - Scott]

While the Call For Papers for the main conference is closed, the Calls for both WIOS and OSSIE are open until December 31st, and there are still a few speaker slots available for those specialty conferences. The Calls for Papers WIOS and OSSIE can be found at http://www.socallinuxexpo.org.

SCALE University is open for registration - these intensive classes are very popular; don't delay applying if you're considering enrolling. Class specifications can be found at http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/scale-u. Registration for SCALE U is an option as part of the regular SCALE registration process.

There also a few slots remaining for both commercial and non-profit exhibitors on the Expo floor. If your company or group is considering exhibiting at SCALE, don't wait - apply now! Commercial exhibitors should apply to sponsorship@socallinuxexpo.org, and non-profits should apply to gareth@socallinuxexpo.org.

Some of the commercial exhibitors are HP, IBM, Sun, Talend, and Zenoss. A few of the non-profit groups exhibiting are GNOME, KDE, Fedora, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Rockbox, and Coreboot. For a list of exhibitors to date, see http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/exhibitors...

BOFs are "Birds Of a Feather", ad hoc meetings of people with common interests. SCALE makes space available for BOF meetings. Those BOF slots are now available. If your group would like to meet at SCALE, email gareth@socallinxexpo.org to reserve a space. See http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/birds-of-a... for the times and rooms.

SCALE is the premier Open Source Software conference in the Southwestern United States. For more information, or to register, see http://socallinuxexpo.org

Mark your calendars! SCALE 7x is February 20-22, 2009!
