It has been brought to Larry the Free Software Guy's attention that he has been somewhat hard on a particular Linux distro and its esteemed project leader. He may have said some mean and unfair things about this distro and its leader. So he makes amends here.
Book review: 'The Linux Command Line'
Larry the Free Software Guy apologizes to No Starch Press for taking so long to review "The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction" by William E. All in the name
In writing a blog item several days ago about the naming conventions of some distros, Larry the Free Software Guy gave further thought to the actual names of some distros and FOSS programs themselves, and how some are in desperate need of change. Among a chosen few, one special example would be that X11 window manager with a name that only a urologist could love.
That's my name, don't wear it out
A PC World writer glosses over the naming conventions in Linux distros without going into the detail they rightfully deserve.
