We improved it to rely only on secure protocol and we are working on sharing these improvements with Mozilla so that users of Thunderbird outside Tails can benefit from them as well. Upgrades and changes: update Tor Browser to 6.0.1, based on Firefox 45.; remove the pre-configured #tails IRC channel, join us on XMPP instead; always display minimize and maximize buttons in title bars; remove GNOME Tweak Tool and hledger.

Manjaro Linux 16.06 Screenshot Tour

Some features to point out in this release: Kernel 4.4 LTS is used for this release, such as the latest drivers available to date. Relative to the last installation media release, our tools have been improved and polished. The Manjaro Settings Manager (MSM) now provides an easy-to-use graphical interface for installing and removing the many series of kernels we offer. Manjaro's selection of available kernels remains the most extensive of all Linux distribution we know of. At the time of this 16.06 release, eleven kernel-series are available directly from our binary repositories, ranging from the mature and rock-solid 3.10 series to the latest 4.6 release.

Linux Mint 18 Beta is now available to download. Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose goal is to provide a more complete out-of-the-box experience by including browser plugins, media codecs, support for DVD playback, Java and other components. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, several unique configuration tools, and a web-based package installation interface. Linux Mint is compatible with Ubuntu software repositories.

Debian 8.5.0 Screenshot Tour

The Debian project is pleased to announce the fifth update of its stable distribution Debian 8 (codename jessie). This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the stable release, along with a few adjustments for serious problems. Linux Lite 3.0 Screenshot Tour

Linux Lite 3.0 final is now available for download. A lot has changed since series 2. We have a new login manager, new boot theme, Lite software has had an overhaul, new system theme (Arc), we've added share hardware configuration (Lite Info), folder access from the menu and upgrades are now automated and seamless in series 3. In addition, there have been many bug fixes and adjustments since the beta release. The default final wallpaper represents the colors of our gem code name, Citrine, accompanied by the Linux Lite logo. Lite software has had an overhaul, we've added icons where there were select boxes.

GeckoLinux 421.160527.0 Cinnamon has been released. Added 3G USB dongle support (ModemManager and usb_modeswitch). GeckoLinux is a Linux spin based on the openSUSE distribution, with a focus on polish and out-of-the-box usability on the desktop. The distribution features many desktop editions which can be installed from live discs. Some patent encumbered open source software is included in GeckoLinux which is not available in the default installation of openSUSE. Special attention has been given to the quality of the font rendering.

Gentoo Linux 20160514 Screenshot Tour

Gentoo Linux is proud to announce the availability of a new live DVD, code-named 'Choice Edition', to celebrate the continued collaboration between Gentoo users and developers. The live DVD is available in two flavors - a hybrid x86/x86_64 version, and an x86_64 multilib version. The x86-amd64-32ul ISO image will work on 32-bit x86 or 64-bit x86_64. If CPU architecture is x86, then boot with the default 'gentoo' kernel. If the architectures is amd64, boot with the 'gentoo64' kernel. The amd64-multilib ISO image is for x86_64 CPUs only and will not boot on x86 CPUs. The live DVD features a superb list of packages: Linux kernel 4.5, X.Org Server 1.18.3, Plasma 5.6.2, Firefox 45.0.1, LibreOffice 5.1.2, GIMP 2.9.2, Blender 2.72b, Chromium 50.0.2661.75.

CentOS 6.8 Screenshot Tour

CentOS Linux 6.8 is derived from source code released by Red Hat, Inc. for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8. All upstream variants have been placed into one combined repository to make it easier for end users. Workstation, server, and minimal installs can all be done from our combined repository. All of our testing is only done against this combined distribution. There are many fundamental changes in this release, compared with the past CentOS Linux 6 releases, and we highly recommend everyone study the upstream release notes as well as the upstream technical notes about the changes and how they might impact your installation.
