GParted 0.18.0-5 is available. GParted Live is a business card-size live CD distribution with a single purpose - to provide tools for partitioning hard disks in an intuitive, graphical environment. The distribution uses X.Org, the light-weight Fluxbox window manager, and the latest 2.6 Linux kernel. GParted Live runs on most x86 machines with a Pentium II or better.

Linux Lite 2.0 beta is now available for download and testing. This build is the work of four months of constant development and the implementation of the best ideas from the team and the wider community. This also marks the beginning of our own repositories for our custom software so that changes and improvements to the operating system can be offered regularly. Now Lite User Manager, Lite Manual, Lite Software and Lite Fix can evolve more easily to meet the needs of the user. In this release we wanted to combine the newest versions of well-established and supported software like LibreOffice, WINE and GIMP so that people have access to the latest features in those programs.

Salix 14.1 Beta 1 is available for testing. Salix OS is a Slackware-based Linux distribution that is simple, fast, easy to use and compatible with Slackware Linux. Optimised for desktop use, Salix OS features one application per task, custom package repositories, advanced package management with dependency support, localised system administration tools and innovative artwork.

KANOTIX LinuxTag2014 is available. KANOTIX is a Linux distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux. It usually contains the latest packages and kernels, carefully patched with fixes and drivers for most modern hardware. Although it can be used as a live CD, it also includes a simple graphical installer for easy hard disk installation. The user-friendly nature of the distribution is further enhanced by a custom-built Control Centre and specialist scripts. KANOTIX is supported on a multilingual forum, Wiki and IRC channel by the distribution's active and friendly user community.

The wattOS team is pleased to announce the release of the new version of wattOS - release 8 - (also known as R8). After 5 years of being an Ubuntu-based distro, we have made the change to Debian. Specifically Debian 'Wheezy' as the base, with some backports thrown in (for example a newer kernel), and in a couple of small places a little 'Jessie' where warranted. But for the most part, its Debian 'Wheezy' as a base to build from. The additional tweaks include the addition of the expected things to make it easy to use as a live CD or install CD.

Blu Linux 1.0, dubbed "Apple Thrillhouse" is available. Blu Linux is a fast, stable, and easy way to compute. Created by Open Source advocates, with everyone in mind! Blu Linux is a new Ubuntu-based distribution for the desktop.

4MLinux 8.1 is available. 4MLinux is a new miniature Linux distribution focusing on four capabilities: maintenance (as a system rescue live CD), multimedia (for playing video DVDs and other multimedia files), miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and mystery (providing several small Linux games).

Sabayon 14.05 is a modern and easy to use Linux distribution based on Gentoo, following an extreme, yet reliable, rolling-release model. This is a monthly release generated, tested and published to mirrors by our build servers containing the latest and greatest collection of software available in the Entropy repositories. Sabayon developers have the funny habit of packaging all the latest stuff that is in the Gentoo repositories and make it available as soon as possible to our users. If you are looking for the latest KDE, GNOME or LibreOffice, the chances that it's in the repos already are very high.

We are very happy to present to you today, straight from the LinuxTag conference in Berlin, the first integration of the shiny new LXQt desktop environment into a distribution image. This is clearly labeled as a development release, so do not trust it, it might kill your kittens, although the developers of LXQt flagged it as being beta status. The released image which is only available for 64-bit systems for now is a snapshot of Debian's 'unstable' branch from 2014-05-08. It is enhanced with the lightweight LXQt desktop environment, some useful packages and scripts, our own installer and a custom-patched version of the Linux kernel 3.14.3.

Slackel Live KDE 4.10.5 has been released. Slackel Live KDE 4.10.5 includes the current tree of Slackware Linux and KDE 4.10.5 accompanied by a very rich collection of KDE-centric software. Linux kernel is 3.10.30. Firefox 24.5.0esr is the web browser, KMail and KTorrent are the main networking applications included in this release, followed by Akregator, an RSS reader for KDE, Kopete, the KDE instant messenger and more. It comes also with OpenJRE 7u51, Rhino, IcedTea-Web, GParted. The wicd utility is used for setting up your wired or wireless networking connections. In the multimedia section, Dragon multimedia player, Clementine 1.2.1 and K3b 2.0.2 are included. The Salix codecs installer application can be used to install patent-encumbered codecs.

Voyager 14.04.1 is now available. Voyager Live is an Xubuntu-based distribution and live DVD showcasing the Xfce desktop environment. Its features include the Avant Window Navigator or AWN (a dock-like navigation bar), Conky (a program which displays useful information on the desktop), and over 300 photographs and animations that can be used as desktop backgrounds.

It is with pleasure that I announce the release of GoboLinux 015 - the alternative Linux distribution. After a hiatus of 6 years, we have returned with an updated set of packages and some infrastructure changes that have come for the better. Some of the major points of this release are: migration from the /System/Links hierarchy to /System/Index; embracing 'root as super user name - that should make recipes more simple to write and soften the task of preparing new releases; live USB support off the shelf; adoption of Enlightenment as the desktop environment for the first time.

The UPR team has published the first stable release of Ubuntu Privacy Remix 12.04r1 (code name 'Protected Pangolin'). UPR is a live system to protect from spying and data theft. The new release will be presented at LinuxTag 2014 in Berlin. UPR 12.04r1 is designed to boot on newer machines with UEFI + SecureBoot and it supports lots of new hardware, but keeps running even on old machines by using the traditional and lightweight GNOME Classic desktop environment. The goal of Ubuntu Privacy Remix is to provide an isolated working environment where sensitive data can be dealt with safely.

Announcing the Robolinux C: drive to VM support package. This is the single most important Robolinux update in the history of Robolinux as it will significantly increase the world's number of successful Windows XP and 7 migrations to Linux.

Pinguy 14.04 RC is now available for testing. Pinguy OS is an Ubuntu-based distribution targeted at beginning Linux users. It features numerous user-friendly enhancements, out-of-the-box support for multimedia codecs and browser plugins, a heavily tweaked GNOME user interface with enhanced menus, panels and dockbars, and a careful selection of popular desktop applications for many common computing tasks.

Chakra 2014.05 RC 1 is now available for testing. Chakra GNU/Linux is a user-friendly and powerful distribution and live CD originally forked from Arch Linux. It features a graphical installer, automatic hardware detection and configuration, the latest KDE desktop, and a variety of tools and extras.

Linuxfx Ghost 7 is available. Linuxfx is a new Brazilian Ubuntu-based distribution. It features an intuitive KDE desktop user interface, automatic hardware detection and configuration, support for popular multimedia codecs, and a collection of useful software for office use and media playback. Linuxfx supports Portuguese, Spanish and English languages.

TriOS Alpha 3 is available. TriOS is a new Debian-based, Serbian Linux distribution available in 32-bit and 64-bit builds.

NixOS 14.04 'Baboon' has been released. It is the second stable release branch. In addition to numerous new and upgraded packages and modules, this release has the following highlights: installation on UEFI systems is now supported; systemd has been updated to version 212, which has numerous improvements; NixOS is now based on glibc 2.19 and GCC 4.8; the default Linux kernel has been updated to 3.12; KDE has been updated to 4.12; Nix has been updated to 1.7; NixOS now supports fully declarative management of users and groups.

Tails, The Amnesic Incognito Live System, version 1.0, is out. Version 1.0 is often an important milestone that denotes the maturity of a free software project. The first public version of what would become Tails was released on June 23 2009, when it was called Amnesia. That was almost five years ago. Tails 1.0 marks the 36th stable release since then. Since then we have been working on the many features we think are essential both in terms of security and usability: USB installer; automatic upgrades; persistence; support for Tor bridges and other special Tor configuration; MAC address spoofing; extensive and translated documentation.
