Minitube 1.2 Beta Released, Adds Video Downloads, Gnome Multimedia Keys Support

Minitube is an application for watching YouTube without Flash. Minitube 1.2 beta was just released, bringing a much requested feature: Gnome multimedia keys support as well as YouTube video downloads.

If a while back Adobe wasn't very interested in its 64bit Linux users and discontinued Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for 64bit, the new Adobe Flash Player codename "Square" developer preview released by Adobe today is also available for 64bit Linux systems.

Nautilus Elementary Gets ClutterView, Embedded Terminal By Default

The latest Nautilus Elementary comes with an embedded terminal - Dolphin style which you can toggle on/off as well as a nice feature called "ClutterFlow" for viewing images. The new version also replaces the default Nautilus search with Zeitgeist.

Like you probably know, the uTorrent developers said they will be releasing uTorrent for Linux a while back. The first step has already been made with the release of a headless uTorrent client for Linux which you can control through the WebUI (Web User Interface). There is also work ongoing for the GUI (graphical user interface).

Deafiant wanted this for Compiz so he wrote a script which can be used to add or delete a workspace on the fly by using a keyboard shortcut (not using buttons like in Gnome Shell, but the result is pretty much the same). After finally getting the bold version last week, the Ubuntu font which will be default in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat is finally available for (almost) everyone. Why almost? Here is an email from the Kubuntu-users mailing list: Members of the ~kubuntu-users team on launchpad can now test out the Ubuntu Font which is currently in beta testing. Anyone can join this team.
