Thunderbird Conversations 2.0 is an add-on for Thunderbird 3.3 that enables Gmail style threaded conversations view. The add-on is currently in alpha stage but it is quite stable so far.Thunderbird Conversations will only work with latest Thunderbird 3.3 Miramar which itself is in Alpha stage. Since both add-on and client is in alpha stage, use them cautiously.

Classic top down arcade shooter Steel Storm is all geared up for release of Steel Storm Episode 2 'Burning Retribution'. The game is available to pre-order and users will get access to beta build as a bonus. Steel Storm Episode 1, released in October last year, is highly popular among Linux gamers because of its addictive gameplay and rich 3D cel-shaded graphics. Steel Storm Episode 1 made into the Top 100 indie games for the year 2010 in a contest announced by IndieDB. The game is also available on Desura.

Ryzom 3D MMORPG for Linux has removed lots of limits and caps for new players who want to play the game without a paid subscription. Instead, the developers have chose to keep a Level limit of 125 beyond which new players will stop getting experience points. This is a nice move as now it is almost free to play the game without any time or place limits.

Mozilla team has finally rolled out a release candidate of long awaited next generation web browser Firefox 4. Firefox 4 for Linux has some great new features that include a newer and faster JägerMonkey JavaScript engine, HTML 5 support, new interface with better support for GTK themes, tab management through panorama, app tabs, WebGL support (only on some supported hardware for Linux), new Jetpack framework for add-ons, new add-on management interface, tabs on top, a single unified menu, new add-on bar, crash protection for flash, quicktime and silverlight plugins etc and of course huge performance and speed improvements over Firefox 3.x series.

Ubuntu 11.04 'Natty Narwhal' Alpha 3 has been released today that brings many fixes, improvements and new features over the last Alpha 2. For Ubuntu 11.04, a feature freeze is already in place and Alpha 3 is first release after that.

Greedy Car Thieves is a new Linux game in development inspired by on of the most popular game series - Grand Theft Auto. A second update to Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu 10.04 'Lucid Lynx' LTS (Long Term Support) has been released. The announcement was made by Ubuntu release manager Kate Stewart and iso images are immediately available to download.This release include updated server, desktop, alternate installation CDs and DVDs for the i386 and amd64 architectures.
