The major stable release of Elive 3.0 has been updated. Today our development team is proud to announce the release of Freespire 4.5, the free-and-open-source subset of our flagship Linspire operating system. Freespire 4.5 is a security and functionality update of the previous 4.0 release and is equivalent to the Linspire 8.0 base. This includes all security updates until Dec 15, 2018.

Swapped VLC for Xplayer (we've had reports that VLC has been getting a little 'flaky' for some users over their last few releases). Removed the Linux Mint 'Levels' from mintupdate (in line with our update policy, not Linux Mints). Fixed the ICE applications 'Where in the menu ?' category names, so they now match the Xfce Whisker Menu categories (i.e. 'Sound & Video' renamed to 'Multimedia', and 'System Tools' renamed to 'System'). Added 'Accessibility Settings' utility to the Peppermint Settings Panel 'System' Category. Added 'Enable/Disable Neofetch' utility to the Peppermint Settings Panel 'Tweaks' Category. Added 'System Information' utility to the Peppermint Settings Panel 'System' Category. Added a 'Transparent' wallpaper (so users can now set solid colour backgrounds via the 'Wallpapers' utility).

Ubuntu DesktopPack 18.04 has been released. Ubuntu DesktopPack is an Ubuntu remix built by Ukraine's UALinux, an official partner of Canonical. It comes with extra applications, drivers and media codecs, and includes full support for English, Russian and Ukrainian languages.

We are pleased to offer MX-18 Continuum. MX-18 offers the following features: Updated packages - the latest updates from Debian 9.6 'Stretch', antiX and MX repositories. The new kernels feature Meltdown and Spectre mitigation, even on the 32-bit kernel. The 32-bit ISO image has a PAE kernel for RAM usage above 4 GB. Easily change kernels, say to the latest 'liquorix' kernel or downgrade to Debian 'stable' kernel (4.9) with MX Package Installer.

Linux Mint 19.1 "Tessa" Xfce released! The Update Manager is able to list mainline kernels and to show their support status. A new button was added to make it easier to remove unused kernels. The Software Sources tool was given a new look. Similar to the welcome screen, it’s now using an Xapp sidebar and a headerbar...

Archman 2018.12 JWM has been released. Archman GNU/Linux is an Arch Linux-based distribution which features the Calamares system installer and a pre-configured desktop environment. Archman also features the Octopi package manager to make installing new software easier.

Linux Mint 19.1 "Tessa" MATE released! The team is proud to announce the release of Linux Mint 19.1 "Tessa" MATE Edition. This new version of Linux Mint contains many improvements.

The Linux Mint team have published an update to the distribution's 19.x series. The new release, Linux Mint 19.1, is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and is available in three flavours: Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce. Apart from some visual and performance improvements to Cinnamon, Linux Mint also makes it easier to report bugs and help developers fix problems.

The Frugalware developer team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Frugalware Linux 2.1, our twenty-first stable release. Frugalware provided a -stable and -current tree in the past. As our team shrank quite a bit lately we lack the manpower to continue providing a secure and stable tree while providing bleeding edge and latest packages in another. Therefore we decided to move all users to the -current tree.

I'm now proud to announce the immediate availability of feren OS 2016.2, the best feren OS version yet, with many new modifications to make feren OS much, much better than before, new and the latest and greatest of Linux Applications, bug fixes everywhere, a new Linux Mint 18 base, and many, many cool new changes from 2016.1. feren OS is a desktop distribution based on Linux Mint.

The wattOS team is pleased to announce the release of the newest version of wattOS - Release 10 - (also known as R10). Built on the latest version of Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS for long term support and stability. The Microwatt edition will not be released until a later date (look to the forums for details). wattOS-R10 - LXDE - 32 and 64bit - available now.

I am proudly announcing ConnochaetOS 14.2, based on Slackware and Salix 14.2. As always it contains only free/libre software as defined by the Free Software Foundation (FSF). We are now using our own deblobbed Linux kernel, named 'kernel-free' based on the de-blobbing mechanism done by Debian GNU/Linux. ConnochaetOS contains: The de-blobbed Kernel Linux 4.4.19, IceWM 1.3.12, Iceweasel 45.3.0. In our slack-n-free repo we provide the current versions of Iceape and Icedove, the brand-new qt5-webengine based web browsers Qupzilla and Otter-browser and LibreOffice 5.1.4 as provided by Eric 'Alien' Hameleers.

This release is designed to be used with children - it's easy to install on old computers with the included Windows Installer. A lot of games and music software are available for use. Both releases boot with BusyBox 1.24.2. Core software and libraries are stored on a Squashfs file system.

Refracta is a Devuan-based operating system which includes several tools to help create CD/USB images of the live system.
