Every 2 years I fall back in love with Linux Mint. I find that by the time the new LTS comes out the older version begins to look a bit tired and dated. At the moment though it is fresh with a great theme and it really does just work. Based on Ubuntu 16.04, Peppermint mixes the LXDE and XFCE desktop components to provide a speedy yet functional desktop, provides great integration between the web and desktop applications and the theming is excellent.
