GNU/Linux is not more support on ARM based windows 8 devices. If you purchase any hardware, you should free to choose your operating system and install on it. So if you want to run GNU/Linux on ARM based devices than forget it. From this decision of Microsoft, it seems that they are preparing for war with GNU/Linux operating system.

Originated in USA, the independent Linux Gentoo version 12.0 has been released on 02 Jan, 2012 with numerous packages in-built. It support many types of architecture and wide range of Desktop Manager which becomes Gentoo more popular.
