First time that I have had a look at VectorLinux. Checkout my screenshot tour. VectorLinux was released this week. I have never installed VectorLinux at all so this was new to me. VectorLinux 7.0 Standard Gold is available on one easy to install CD. You can download it from VectorLinux or purchase it on CD from Linux CD Shop. They also have a LiveCD version to give it a test drive. As I mentioned above installing VectorLinux 7.0 was very easy. Below are some screenshots of the process

I have used Linux for many years. I use it on extremely fast machines and on some really slow ones. I am always encouraged when I test out a new release and find that it works on my older and much slower equipment. Puppy Linux 4.3 is just that. A stable Linux distribution that has all the tools to get that older machine running.

One day you're chugging merrily along, and then you're staring at your Linux machine that won't boot -- a machine that just happens to contain everything of importance to you. While some degree of disaster is inevitable, it's how you cope with it that counts.

Mandriva 2008 Spring Powerpack is a great, easy Linux OS to use. Mandiva's subscription service is a bonus and worth the money. Just a few less coffees a year and you too can get on board with Mandriva!

Well you know sometimes when you use an OS for as long as I have... One can get bored with it. Maybe it is just my personality but I was just sitting around the old computer the other day and well... I decided to upgrade Ubuntu 7.10 to the new beta release 8.04.

One of the great things about Linux is the ability to not only install it on your home desktop computer, but the ability to install it on a USB Key. Installing Linux on a USB Key makes it very mobile and today I am pleased to review a commercial version of Linux on USB key called Mandriva Flash 2008.

I do not know... Is it me or is it every time a major update happens with Ubuntu something goes wrong. I do not think I am all alone on this one...

I am looking at a micro Linux distribution today called GoblinX 2.6. This distribution is a Live CD that loaded fast and was very stable. Hope you enjoy the movie.

I am seeing many reviews about the latest Linux craze OS called gOS Linux. I did a short tour earlier in the week but thought I would link to my Flash Video of gOS Linux 1.0.1 in action. I also included a link to an excellent review of gOS over at linux.com by Susan Linton.

Today I am looking at the new release of StartCom Enterprise Linux AS-5.0.1. This OS is a RedHat clone based on it's source packages. Images will guide you through the install process.

Over the last week since my short review on gOS and the introduction of the ASUS EEE PC with it's stream line version of Xandros I have been thinking about what value this has for the Linux OS and it's familiarity to the masses.

Mandriva 2008 Powerpack is a commercial Linux product built by Mandriva. They provide the Linux Community with a free version but today I will take a look at Powerpack. Mandriva 2008 Powerpack is easy to install and configure and I hope you enjoy this quick look at this excellent Linux OS.
