Ubuntu remixes netbook interface
Streamlined, speedier netbook interface promised for next Ubuntu release. With the battle for netbook supremacy heating up Ubuntu is promising to roll out a much-improved interface for the ultra-portable netbook market when it releases Ubuntu 9.10 in October this year. Also known as Karmic Koala the next release of Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR) will include a noticeably streamlined interface and some speed enhancements.

UbuntuOne in the cloud
UbuntuOne's online storage drive is still in beta but shows lots of promise. With more and more users turning to the Internet to store and share documents, Linux developer Ubuntu has also entered the market with a beta version of its UbuntuOne service (http://www.ubuntuone.com). The platform is a competitor to the likes of Dropbox and allows users to synchronise files between computers as well as sharing them with friends and colleagues.
