Zero Touch Linux (ZTL), a complete suite of back office server applications centrally controlled by a friendly web based control panel. A single installation of ZTL can act as a central File Server, Print Server, Domain Consoler, DNS, Mail Server, Database Server and Web Server. The package overcomes the traditional difficulties of deploying a Linux infrastructure by reducing the setup of multiple server types to a one time installation and configuration.

When one launches into a critique about Linux, you really do have to be careful not offend the sensibilities of open source devotees. Caracas is host to the II Latin American Festival of Free Installation Software this weekend, an initiative supported by the Chávez government and designed to promote the use of alternative operating systems.

Havana, March 24 (ACN) Cuba will join other Latin American nations in a simultaneously held festival on Saturday aimed at promoting the use of free software programs; these are seen as alternatives to commercially marketed programs such as the costly Windows operating system.

The event, known as FLISOL, has been organized in Cuba by the Young Peoples Computer Club network, and will take place in community computer centers in each of the nation’s provincial capitals.

Taiwan's B2D Project this week released a new Knoppix-based Linux distribution that includes both KDE (3.5.1) and GNOME (2.12) on a single liveCD. B2D is a Debian-based Linux distribution with user environment and read/write support for traditional Chinese, the project said.
