The PCLinuxOS team is happy to announce the availability of PCLinuxOS 2013.12, quarterly maintenance release ISO images. All PCLinuxOS ISOs for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems have been updated with the latest software updates and bug fixes from the software repository. The Linux kernel was updated to the stable release 3.4.70. The KDE on Full Monty, Standard and MiniMe editions was updated to version 4.11.3. The Mate ISO image got an updated theme from Linuzoid and reworked default desktop layout.

ROSA is announcing a new major release pack for the 'R' series of its distributions - the ROSA Desktop Fresh R2. The 'R' lineup is targeted to the experienced users who care for fresh updated versions of the software and for those with new modern hardware. The R2 release includes all the updates, bug fixes and features added since the R1 release. The ROSA Desktop Fresh R2 is based on the KDE graphical desktop environment. The GNOME and LXDE editions are expected shortly as well.

We're proud and happy to announce the first re-spin of Peppermint Four in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions. The downloads are live now via our standard download links and are also available for purchase in both CD and USB format. The re-spins offer a fully updated install as of November 5th, 2013, so you aren't left needing to download hundreds of megabytes of updates immediately after the install. In addition, we changed the desktop notifications back to the way they were in Peppermint Two after several users noted that the way they were implemented in Four seemed to be a bit of a step backward compared to the previous iterations.

MakuluLinux 4.0 is a Debian-based distribution providing a sleek, smooth and stable user experience on any computer. It includes pre-installed multimedia codecs, device drivers and software for everyday use.

Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux desktop. It is based on Linux 2.6 kernel, BusyBox, Tiny X, FLTK graphical user interface and JWM window manager, running entirely in memory. It is not a complete desktop, nor is all hardware completely supported; it represents only the core needed to boot into a very minimal X Window desktop, typically with wired Internet access.

Oracle Linux 6 Update 5 ships with three sets of kernel packages: Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 2 (2.6.39 for x86); Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 3 (3.8.13 for x86_64); Red Hat Compatible Kernel (2.6.32 for x86 and x86_64). UEK R3 includes the following major improvements over UEK R2: integrated DTrace support in the UEK R3 kernel and user-space tracing of DTrace-enabled applications; Device mapper support for an external, read-only device.

This release upgrades the desktop to Xfce 4.10.2+ and includes the 4.11 versions of xfwm4 and xfce4-session. The Centrych desktop profile gets a customized notification theme, and both desktop profiles now use whiskermenu. The GNOME and KDE services are no longer started by default, which provides additional RAM savings and shortens login time. Also present is the most recent version of LibreOffice, 4.1.3. The current stable release of open-vm-tools is included and has been modified to build properly under all LTS supported kernels - 3.2, 3.5, 3.8, and the soon to be released 3.11.

CentOS 6.5 is based on the upstream release EL 6.5 and includes packages from all variants. There are many fundamental changes in this release, compared with the past CentOS 6 releases and we highly recommend everyone study the release notes as well as the upstream technical notes about the changes and how they might impact your installation.

The team is proud to announce the release of Linux Mint 16 “Petra” MATE. Linux Mint 16 is the result of 6 months of incremental development on top of stable and reliable technologies. This new release comes with updated software and brings refinements and new features to make your desktop even more comfortable to use.

Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose goal is to provide a more complete out-of-the-box experience by including browser plugins, media codecs, support for DVD playback, Java and other components. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, several unique configuration tools, and a web-based package installation interface. Linux Mint is compatible with Ubuntu software repositories.

Linux Deepin (formerly Hiweed GNU/Linux) is a Chinese distribution, based on Ubuntu. Its features include preconfigured Chinese applications, such as Chinese (simplified) input method, Chinese-English and English-Chinese dictionaries, and Chinese (simplified) true-type fonts. The new 2013 release has retained the highlights of its predecessors. It has also made many improvements based on our users' feedback and suggestions.

Manjaro Linux 0.8.8 is ready. We worked hard and managed to get Pamac 0.9.3 done. Here are some features of our redesigned package manager: stable backend for updates or transactions with a custom pyalpm; the transaction progress window was redesigned, it includes a details expander; post-install script output is visible in the expander; you can install local packages from pamac-manager. Manjaro Linux is a lightweight distribution a choice of Xfce or Openbox desktop user interfaces, based on Arch Linux.

SolydX 201311 is available. SolydXK is a desktop Linux distribution with Xfce (SolydX) or KDE (SolydK) based on Debian's "testing" branch. SolydK Business edition has been created for businesses and organizations with stability and security in mind. While the home editions of SolydXK were developed to be stable and still having the latest software available, the SolydK Business edition has been developed to provide long-term support based on Debian 'stable'.

Wakawa Linux 1.1.3 (Openbox) is available. The Wakawã project is a customization "rolling release" of the Linux Debian testing/sid.

We are happy to announce the release of Calculate Linux 13.11. Calculate Linux Desktop, featuring either the KDE (CLD) or the Xfce (CLDX) environment, Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Media Center (CMC), Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS), Calculate Scratch Server (CSS) are all available for download. Major changes: better domain performance; graphical interfaces do not hang when the network in the domain is down; if LDAP remains unresponsive for some time, the connection will be recovered with user privileges, and more.

Black Lab Linux 4.1.8 has had its first launch and it was pretty successful start. Black Lab Linux (formerly OS/4 OpenLinux) is a custom Linux distribution compatible with Ubuntu and Debian Linux. It aims for ease of use and user friendliness.

The Emmabuntüs team is pleased to announce the 5th maintenance release of Emmabuntüs 2 1.06 based on Xubuntu 12.04.3. For this version 1.06 the following fixes and improvements have been made: updated packages for Xubuntu 12.04.2, codecs and extensions contained in web browsers (Firefox, Chromium) and the Thunderbird mail reader; update extension for LibreOffice 2.3 Language Tools and documentation included in the distribution; update Cairo-Dock 3.3.2.

x9wm Linux 2013-11-12 is available. x9wm Linux is a vanilla debian 32-bit/64bit i386 686-pae/AMD64 kernel build on Wheezy the Stable Debian Channel complete with over 300 installed applications including GIMP, LibreOffice, OpenShot Video Editor, GUVC WebCam,EtherApe, Aterm-Transparent terminal, LeafPad, RecordMyDesktop, Google-Chrome w/FLASH latest, FireFox, xpdf, atop, htop, xcalc, many fonts, gparted , SSHuttle, VLC, mplayer, 1-click to any of your favorite sites and a whole lot more.

Plus-OS 1 is available. Plus-OS is a Kubuntu-based distribution which comes with additional software in the default installation, including Steam, Chrome, WINE and other desktop applications.

Version 4.7 is built from packages released recently as part of the new Slackware Linux 14.1. It ships with Linux kernel 3.10.18 in "normal" or PAE variants and includes two desktop environments - KDE 4.10.5 and Xfce 4.11, the latter of which is a development version compiled by the distribution's maintainer. As always, a good collection of XZM modules is available to extend the functionality of the Wifislax live CD; these include image, video and audio applications, multimedia players, various FTP and P2P clients and many others. Most software packages have been upgraded to their latest versions.
