Joseph Cheek CEO of Lycoris has published a letter to their customers and the community. In the letter Joe addresses many outstanding issues that have gone unresolved over the past few months, and outlines major changes to Lycoris the company, the products, and future direction. Quote: "... During the past week I have felt that there are other unresolved issues with Lycoris as a company. In particular, I have taken a hard look at our current business model and whether it is sustainable or not. Currently I conclude that our business model is not sustainable, and have decided to make some other fundamental changes. ..."

I came across it around mid September and after reading up on it, decided to install their September 15 pre-release on my IBM Thinkpad T22.

My Conclusion is this, for a SOHO Business system that wants to get more useable life out of their computer systems I cannot think of a better Linux system out there.

Recent news about Ubuntu had peaked my interest. Debian based, good development team, the Ubuntu philosophy and an active community.

This is a rant Jim Smerk wrote about how people always call you to work on their computers, don't listen to you when you tell them something, and what he did to stop it. It's a rant also against WinTel and AOL. However, it has a happy ending. It started 6 months ago, it’s a sort of success story of sorts.
