The OpenELEC team is proud to announce the 5th beta of OpenELEC 6.0 (v5.95.5). The most visible change is Kodi 15.1 (Isengard). Beginning with Kodi 15.0 most audio encoder, audio decoder, PVR and visualisation addons are no longer pre-bundled into OpenELEC but can be downloaded from the Kodi addon repo if required.
Updated Debian 8: 8.2 released
The Debian project is pleased to announce the second update of its stable distribution Debian 8 (codename jessie). This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the stable release, along with a few adjustments for serious problems. Security advisories were published separately and are referenced where applicable.

Steven Shiau anounced the latest stable build of GParted Live; version 0.23.0-1. GParted Live now runs on Linux Kernel 4.1.3 and GParted 0.23.0 and is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 06-08-2015). This release adds many interesting features like the ability to display a disk's serial number (device information dialog).

The game Homefront: The Revolution will be ported to Linux. Homefront: The Revolution is a FPS game from Crytek built on the CryENGINE game engine. This is the second game in the series, and it was initially published by THQ, but that company is gone Crytek encounterd some problems. Deep Silver will now publish the game and take care of the Linux port.
