You know, even if Malaysia were to set a policy that "required" all government software be open source that wouldn't cut Microsoft out of business. All they have to do is to give Malaysia the source along with the binaries and problem solved. What's wrong with countries wanting the source to the applications they use? If I were a government of a country I would certainly want to be able to check it over for back doors and spyware before I would allow it to be used. That's a little difficult to do without the source. Microsoft would have you think that this policy somehow cuts them out of the picture, but they have just as much of a chance of their software being used as any other. They just have to do it by another set of rules than what they are used to. |

Open Source is changing the playing field for Software and MS is running sacred. I just can't wait till they find out that not all software is worth the price you pay to use it. |
