The Federal Government agrees with the premises of this article and recently launched a dedicated site https://www.core.gov/ to achieve just that distribution synergy and transparency. The issue was covered in the second half of the Linuxshow http://www.thelinuxshow.com/ yesterday (Audio available at site) and the estimated yearly savings to the public sector will reach $56B by ?
